StatSheet's A-10 Player of the Week for February 11th goes to Massachusetts's Chaz Williams. StatSheet's A-10 Freshman of the Week goes to Dyshawn Pierre from Dayton. Finally, Massachusetts's Cady Lalanne is StatSheet's A-10 6th Man of the Week.
Williams led the entire A-10 in assists (8.5 per game). He also put up big numbers in rebounding (3 per game), shooting (60%), and scoring (19 pts per game). The Massachusetts junior put these numbers up in wins against Rhode Island and St. Joseph's (PA).
Williams led the Minutemen in scoring with 27 points and added 8 assists in a big 81-53 win over Rhode Island. He followed that up with 11 points and 9 assists in an 80-62 win over St. Joseph's (PA).
This is the first time this season that Chaz Williams has been named StatSheet A-10 Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is junior Cedrick Lindsay from Richmond. Honorable mention goes to our own Isaiah Armwood.
StatSheet A-10 Freshman of the Week: Dayton's Dyshawn Pierre
Dyshawn Pierre averaged 35 minutes of playing time as a starter for Dayton. His average in rebounding (9.0 per game) was the best among all A-10 freshmen. In a 60-54 win over St. Joseph's (PA), Pierre contributed 3 assists and 71% shooting. Then in a 72-71 loss to Temple, he totaled 9 points and 11 rebounds.
This is a repeat honor for Dyshawn Pierre, making it the second time he has won StatSheet A-10 Freshman of the Week. Semaj Christon from Xavier gets runner-up. Willie Clayton from Charlotte receives honorable mention. The highest ranking freshman from George Washington was Patricio Garino who finished 4th.
StatSheet A-10 6th Man of the Week: Massachusetts's Cady Lalanne
Sophomore Cady Lalanne, a 6-9 reserve forward/center, averaged 26 minutes over the two games for the Minutemen. In the win against Rhode Island, Lalanne put up 6 rebounds and 80% shooting. During the win over St. Joseph's (PA), he racked up 9 points and 12 rebounds.
This is Cady Lalanne's second StatSheet A-10 6th Man of the Week award this season. Jordair Jett, a junior guard from Saint Louis, is runner up. Tyrone Garland, a junior guard from La Salle, receives honorable mention. The highest ranking 6th man from George Washington was Dwayne Smith who finished 6th. George Washington has yet to win StatSheet A-10 Player of the Week.
